Caught between a still and a rush - 2023

In this work, six hares leap together. When the images are placed one after the other in stop-motion, movement is created. Meanwhile, they are also frozen in their movement. They hang from their own wires, raising the question of whether they are being carried or trapped. The work explores how one situation can be experienced differently. One moment can feel safe and another moment can feel oppressive. What means peace to one person can evoke tension in another. It reminds us that perception is subjective. That we cannot always fully empathize with another person's experience. And that beneath a calm surface, there can always be another reality.
